Why Do I Need a Consultation?

Consultations offer us much more than the opportunity to discuss your next hair service. It doesn't matter if you are just after a simple blow-dry, everyday hairstyle or a bold hair colour transformation, without your Hoop stylist understanding your desires, you could be left dissatisfied - not something that either of us want!

A hair consultation is the best way for you to communicate with your Hoop hairstylist and is a vital part of your hair journey, it gives us the chance to meet you, show you around the salon and more importantly, start a relationship that will last! We will match you to the Hoop stylist that we think will understand your needs and be able to just "get" you.

Your relationship with your stylist is potentially one of the most rewarding partnerships around. We know your likes, your loathes and much more than where you're off to on holiday! It is a relationship built on trust and absolute honesty.

What Should I Bring to My Consultation?

For a successful hair consultation it would help for you to bring the following:

  • Any inspirational pictures of styles and colours you love - or even ones you don't love!
  • Your hair history - be honest with us about past allergic reactions, whether you've used box dye and information about your lifestyle, for example if you regularly swim - as this will help us to determine which services and products to offer
  • Let us know about your exes - stylists of course! Any previous poor experience will help us to give you the best service in our salon and to make you feel comfortable

Can I Have My Hair Coloured on The Same Day as My Consultation?

If you've not visited our salon before for a hair colour, then you will not be able to have a same day service with your hair colour consultation. This is because we will need to perform a simple skin allergy test to ensure that you suffer no adverse reactions to the hair colour products that we will use.

Your skin allergy test will need to be performed at least 48 hours prior to your hair colour service. This also allows you the time to consider the hair colour and plan which we have agreed upon and discuss this further if necessary.

How Much Will My Hair Service Cost?

One of the most important aspects of your Hoop Hair consultation is that we will provide you with a detailed quote for your hair service. We aspire to be completely honest with you about what can be realistically achieved with your hair and the associated costs of your service. Our consultation allows us to tailor your service to exactly what you need, with no nasty surprises!

We Offer Expert Home Hair Care Advice

Your happiness, and your hair, is our best advertisement, which is why your Hoop stylist will use your consultation and hair service to advise you on how to keep your hair looking salon fresh in between visits. We will discuss your lifestyle and your home styling routines, this will help us to advise on the best products and systems to use at home. We can even advise on daily styles we think would suit you and can show you how to recreate your salon look at home.
